Offering butter lamps is a very powerful offering in Buddhist tradition because the light of butter lamps symbolizes wisdom. Just as a lamp dispels darkness, lighting a butter lamp generates merit to dispel the darkness of ignorance, and gives rise to Buddha’s illuminating clear light wisdom.
We aim to make 10,000 lamp offering during this event. Candles will be lit on 8pm on 11th and 12th March 2012. Your participation is much appreciated.
